Round two of the 2017 Cool FAB Racing Championship is taking place this weekend at Red Lodge, Bury St Edmunds this weekend.
The three-day event began on Friday 21st April with practice sessions followed by two full days of racing on Saturday and Sunday.
Crispin Vitoria, Managing Director of Cool FAB Racing, the company delivering Cool Milk’s 10-year sponsorship deal with FAB Racing, said: “The championship went off to a good start. We could clearly see how much our riders had improved their skills on last year.
“We also welcomed a record number of rookies who are showing great promise. It is nice to see that our partnership with the British Superbike Championship is attracting more young talent to the series.”
The AC40 Rookie category was one of the highlights of the weekend. Jamie Woodcock showed his dominance, winning two out of three races to be crowned the overall Champion, while Orlando Philips took second place, followed by Kyle Payne. All eyes will be on them again this weekend.
In the AC40 Pro class competition was fierce between riders Ross Maguire, Evan Belford, Owen Mellor and Eddie O’Shea all vying for a spot on the podium. In the end, Ross Maguire dominated the round, winning all three races and taking overall Champion. But with a whole season to go, his adversaries will no doubt make a bid for his title.
Crispin added: “It was fantastic to see the junior British Superbike teams out in their full team kit, including branded leathers, bikes and marquees.
“We’re also very excited to have brought Bike World on board as a media partner. They produce the most popular motorbike entertainment show in Europe which they broadcast to an audience of over 30 million.
“This really raises the profile of the series and we can’t wait to see how 2017 will unfold.”
